Bividend Benefits and Rationale

This Bividend rewarded our shareholders for their continued support while encouraging financial freedom by providing an onramp to owning Ethereum. BTCS has a long history of industry firsts in the digital asset sector, and the Bividend continued that tradition by making BTCS the first public company in the world to issue a dividend in ETH.  Along with the $0.05 per share Bividend payment, BTCS offered a $0.35 per share Loyalty Payment to encourage shareholders to move their shares to Book Entry at the transfer agent, preventing them from being lent to short sellers.

Capitalize on Market Dislocation

When the Board approved the Bividend, BTCS’s share price was below our cash and digital asset holdings.

Reward Shareholders

BTCS rewarded our long-time shareholders with a Bividend and Loyalty Payment in recognition of their continued support.

Protect Against Market Manipulation

By offering a Loyalty Payment, shareholders were incentivized to keep their shares at the transfer agent, preventing them from being lent to short sellers.

Promote Crypto Adoption

The Bividend gives our shareholders the opportunity to hold ETH directly.
